Aroma An intense and enticing bouquet. Immediately recognisable are the rich notes of yellow apple and ripe peach, complemented by aromas of hazelnut, orange blossom and a subtle spiciness of freshly baked shortbread and flint.

Taste The mouthfeel is full, almost oily and refreshing. On the palate, layers of melon, citrus zest and a striking chalky minerality recall the shell-rich soil. The 13,5% alcohol provides a beautiful structure in which the creamy crème brûlée notes remain beautifully balanced with the lively acidity.

Finish A long, elegant finish. The fresh notes of lime and minerals slowly fade away and make way for a warm memory of toasted nuts and mild spices.

Serving tips & pairings

• Serving: The ideal way to allow the complex aromas to show fully at their best is to serve the wine between 10°C and 12°C in a generous wine glass.

• Potential: Although already delicious now, this wine has the structure to continue developing beautifully in the bottle for another 3 to 5 years.

• Gastronomy: Excellent with rich dishes such as gnocchi with blue cheese, creamy seafood risotto or classic escargots. Also fantastic alongside poultry with sauce or wild mushrooms.

• Moment: This is the ideal wine for a refined dinner or a tasting among connoisseurs, where the balance between South African sun and maritime coolness can take centre stage fully.
