Aroma An intense and enticing bouquet. Immediately recognisable are the rich notes of black forest fruit such as blackberries and black cherries, beautifully complemented by aromas of balsamic, dark chocolate and a subtle spicy touch of cedarwood, tobacco and black pepper.

Taste The mouthfeel is broad, meaty and highly structured. On the palate, layers of ripe fruit appear, with a striking balance between powerful, ripe tannins and the silky-smooth texture of French oak. The alcohol percentage of 14,5% supports the full body beautifully, with the minerality and smoky nuances lingering for a long time.

Finish A very long, elegant finish. The notes of spices and dark fruit slowly fade away and make way for a clean memory of mild toast and a refined, powerful finish.

Serving tips & pairings

• Temperature: Serve this wine at preference between the 16°C and 18°C.

• Decanting: This wine is very concentrated; decant it at least an hour beforehand to let the complex aromas come fully into their own.

• Gastronomy: Excellent with powerful meat dishes such as game, lamb, grilled red meat or rich stews. Also a fantastic partner for very old, hard cheeses.

• Characteristic: Certified organic (ECO) and vegan; 12 months ageing in French oak.

• Moment: This is a true wine for cellaring, ideal for a festive dinner, a special occasion or to let mature in the cellar for many years to come.
